To qualify for Fat Llama’s Lender Guarantee, you must follow these steps before and after a rental.
Before the Rental
1. Take Timestamped Photos/Videos of Your Item
To document your item’s condition before the rental, you need to take timestamped photos no more than 24 hours before the rental starts.
For items with moving parts, electronics, audio functions, or mechanisms that a photo cannot demonstrate, you must take a timestamped video showing it in full working order (e.g., a drone flying).
2. Locate Proof of Purchase
If an item is not returned, you must provide proof of purchase. Acceptable proof includes:
A physical or digital receipt
A screenshot of an online purchase confirmation
An email or SMS confirmation from the seller
A bank transaction showing the item or seller’s name
3. List Your Item Accurately
Ensure everything you are lending is included in your listing description. Items not listed will not be covered under the Lender Guarantee.
4. Correctly Estimate Your Item’s Value
When listing an item, you must provide an accurate value AND category. This is essential because:
Fat Llama’s Lender Guarantee will only cover up to the listed value.
Overestimating or underestimating could affect claim approvals.
After the Rental
1. Inspect the Item Immediately
Upon return, check that the item is in working order.
If you suspect any damage, take timestamped photos or videos of the issue.
Report the damage immediately via the forms found in our FAQ.
By following these steps, you ensure your item qualifies for Fat Llama’s Lender Guarantee, giving you protection in case of damage or non-return.
