To qualify for Fat Llama’s Lender Guarantee, you must follow these steps before and after a rental.
Before the Rental
1. Take Timestamped Photos/Videos of Your Item
To document the condition of your item before the rental, you must take timestamped photos no more than 24 hours before the rental starts.
For items with moving parts, electronics, audio functions, or mechanisms that can’t be demonstrated in a photo, you need a timestamped video showing it in full working order (e.g., a drone flying).
How to Take Timestamped Evidence:
Smartphones: Most modern phone cameras automatically encrypt timestamps into photos/videos.
Apps: If your phone does not include timestamps, use an app like Timestamp Camera Basic.
2. Locate Proof of Purchase for Your Item
In the rare case that an item is not returned, you must provide proof of purchase. Acceptable proof includes:
A physical or digital receipt
A screenshot of an online purchase confirmation
An email or SMS confirmation from the seller
A bank transaction showing the item or seller’s name
3. List Your Item Accurately
Ensure everything you are lending is included in your listing description. Items not listed cannot be covered under the Lender Guarantee.
After the Rental
1. Inspect the Item Immediately
Upon return, check that the item is in working order.
If you suspect any damage, take timestamped photos or videos of the issue.
Report the damage to the Resolutions Team within 24 hours of the rental ending.
By following these steps, you ensure your item qualifies for Fat Llama’s Lender Guarantee, giving you protection in case of damage or non-return.
