Cancellation Information for Borrowers and Lenders

Borrowers

Cancelling a Request or Booking

  • You can cancel a request before payment at any time.

  • Once payment is made, an order is created, and the cancellation policy applies.

  • Check the specific cancellation policy (Flexible, Medium, or Strict) in the item's listing before confirming payment.

How to Cancel a Booking

  1. Go to the Bookings Page and locate the booking you wish to cancel.

  2. Click the Cancel button on the specific booking.

  3. Once cancelled, a refund request is sent to our payment provider, Stripe.

  4. While the refund is processed immediately on our end, it may take time for the funds to reflect in your bank account.

Refunds After Rental Period Has Begun

  • If an issue arises after the rental starts, and both you and the lender agree on a refund, do not cancel the booking yourself.

  • The lender must cancel the booking for you to receive a full refund.

If the Lender Cancels

  • You will receive a full refund if the lender cancels.

  • If the cancellation was unexpected, contact us for assistance in finding an alternative item.

If the Lender Does Not Show Up

  • Do not cancel the booking yourself, as the cancellation policy will apply.

  • Instead, contact Fat Llama's customer support at info@fatllama.com for help.



Lenders

If the Borrower Cancels

  • The cancellation policy (Flexible, Medium, or Strict) determines if the borrower receives a full or partial refund.

If You (the Lender) Cancel

  • The borrower receives a full refund, including the booking fee.

  • You must initiate the cancellation to ensure the refund is processed correctly if, for any reason, you are unable to rent out the item as originally intended.

  • There are no charges for cancelling a rental as a lender.

How to Cancel a Booking

  1. Go to your list of upcoming or ongoing rentals.

  2. Locate the specific booking.

  3. Click "Refund the rental" at the bottom of the booking details.

  4. Confirm the cancellation when prompted.

Refunds for Completed Bookings

  • Once a booking is completed, you cannot refund it yourself.

  • If a refund is needed after completion, contact Fat Llama customer support immediately.
